Vintage Royal Winton Grimwades Summertime Chintz Plate Teacup Saucer SetGrimwades pottery, founded in 1885, operated from 1900-1964 producing a wide range of tableware pottery items out of Stoke-on-Kent. The 'Summertime' pattern, a bouquet of English countryside summer flowers, was the second chintz pattern becoming the most successful of the more than sixty patterns produced there after. The popular pattern was shipped to the USA exclusively to Wright, Tyndale and Van Roden, Inc., a luxury store in Philadelphia. A lovely start to your collection or perhaps just to enjoy a beautiful cup of tea.
Preowned in very good condition, no chips/nicks; random gilt wear. Common crazing on under sides; kiln pin marks are seen on plate. Double stamped with Copyright Wright, Tyndale & Van Roden, Inc, and Royal Winton Grimwades England with green ENGLAND stamp.
