Disraeli Gears is the 2nd studio album by the British rock band Cream. It’s a landmark record, blending psychedelic rock, blues, and pop, and is often cited as one of the greatest albums of the 1960’s. It marked a shift from the band’s raw blues roots to a more polished, experimental sound. Disraeli Gears captured the 1967 “Summer of Love” vibe while retaining Cream’s blues foundation. Its fusion of heavy riffs, poetic lyrics, and experimental tones influenced countless bands. The album’s title, a playful malapropism, came from a roadie’s misnaming of “derailleur gears” (bicycle gears), adding to its quirky charm.
