Historical Note:
Tryon's Folly was the nickname for an abandoned stone mansion in Lewiston, New York. Built by Captain William Tryon in the early 1800s, the home was never finished as planned and eventually fell into ruin. Locals referred to it as "The Haunted House," and for decades it was the subject of ghost stories and folklore. The eerie, decaying walls became a landmark and were often featured on early postcards like this one.
This card dates to the Divided Back Era (1907–1915), when many U.S. town and landmark postcards were printed in Germany due to their high-quality lithography.
