Vintage 1970s handmade needlepoint Christmas tree skirt features a round all-over pattern with a traditional holiday storybook theme. The red skirt is stitched with seasonal characters of Santa & hid reindeer, and a sleeping mouse tucked in bed, a child hanging his stocking above the fireplace.
The night before Christmas stitched script reads:
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall!
Now, dash away, dash away, dash away all!
He looked like a peddler just opening his sack.
*** Made of cotton with wool yarn accents, this large 46 tree skirt adds a touch of old-fashioned charm to any holiday decor. Overall very nice condition with no sticking flaws, holes or tears. A few minor light stains and has not been washed and may need to be professionally cleaning as the old red yarn dye is known bleed and I don't dare put in the washing machine. It has been spot cleaned. ***
