Rare antique Victorian sterling silver overlay decanter with original stopper, hallmarked Birmingham 1895 by Bishton & Fletcher. The frosted glass body is richly overlaid in .925 sterling with ornate engraved motifs. Hallmarks are crisp and complete: anchor for Birmingham, lion passant for sterling, Gothic "b" for 1895, and maker's mark "B&F." Stopper features an engraved monogram, adding authentic period charm. Both decanter and stopper are original and intact. Measures 7.75" tall x 3" wide, 14.1 oz total weight. Excellent antique condition with only light wear from age. Rare to find complete examples like this. Pieces of this quality and age are very hard to find. Comparable Victorian sterling overlay decanters are valued $900+, based on maker and condition.
