Antique ART NOUVEAU Era ENAMEL Purse POCKET CHATELAINE MIRROR 1900’s Era made by the SPECIALTY MFG. CO. in BROOKLYN, N.Y. (this is etched on the side of the mirror). The side of the mirror looks like brass which holds up very well over time. It may look like rust, but after viewing w/ a 30x LOUPE I strongly believe it to be brass. But, please see photos & you be the judge. In scan #9 you can see the word “Specialty” near my fingers. And overall the brass can be viewed in the scan & is clearly FREE of oxidation. You can see how SHINY the brass once was in the area where it meets the enamel. Just a lovely, HIGH QUALITY PIECE!! The PATTERN on the ENAMEL SPEAKS of NATURE & HAS FLOWING ART NOUVEAU-LIKE LINES. Also, in last scan you can see a raised silver area. This is where I believe the mirror WAS ONCE ATTACHED TO A CHATELAINE. See last scan for example of chatelaine mirror w/ cover & how objects were attached to chains. Some of the mirrors had covers & others didn’t. Thnx for looking!
